Day 2

Today was "cut out the profiles" day.  I set myself 6 hours and it took about that long.  Unfortunately it started raining just when I finished so i had to vacate the environs for the inside and a cup of tea.  The profiles are a but rough.  I will have to spend a few hours rasping them down to get rid of the furry bits.  In particular I am concerned about scratching my shins on the No 4 profile every time I get in.  Ok Ok I am just a sook but there we have it.

Stopped raining so I had a go at setting up the profiles on the keelson on the strongback.  This is not a one man job... at least not for me.  I will need to get some help.  However there is a vague feeling that given glue, screws, ties and some help I may just get this together.

I will use Gorilla Glue... why... cuz someone else did.  Mitre 10 have it so I will pick some up in the morning.

The big challenge will be getting the whole frame straight and true.  I have no idea how I will do this.  I am sort of hoping that it will all work out easier than I expect.

Breakfast... Just because it is Christmas.

Drilling starter holes for the Jigsaw.

Sort of underway with the cutting.

First one done.  Eight profiles took me 6 hours.  Next time I will look to how to speed this up.

Profiles are done.  They look so small I am not sure how I will get in and out of this kayak.  I guess other people have done it so I show be able to as well.

Tomorrow is glue day.  wowowoowowoowo.
